1. Information We Collect
We collect information in a few different ways depending on how you use CodeVent Digital:
- Account information — when you sign in (e.g. via Google Sign-In), we receive your name, email address, and profile identifier to create and secure your account.
- Usage data — progress through courses, tools used in the Toolkit, and general interaction data that helps us improve the platform.
- Payment data — when you purchase an eBook or course, payment is processed by Paystack. We do not see or store your card details; Paystack handles that securely under its own PCI-compliant systems.
- AI Chat conversations — messages you send to our AI mentor are processed using Google's Gemini API to generate a response. We don't use these conversations to train external models.
- Community data — if you join our WhatsApp groups or channels, your interactions there are governed by WhatsApp's own privacy terms as well as this policy where applicable.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain your account, courses, and purchases
- To respond to support requests and improve our tools
- To send important updates about your account or purchases
- To personalize your learning experience across the platform
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Data Storage & Security
Our backend runs on Cloudflare Workers with Cloudflare KV for storage, and authentication is verified using industry-standard JWT tokens against Google's official identity servers. We use lightweight, minimal-dependency infrastructure by design, which also means less surface area for things to go wrong — but no system is 100% risk-free, and we continuously work to keep things secure.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of trusted third-party services to run CodeVent Digital:
- Google — for sign-in authentication
- Paystack — for processing eBook and course payments
- Google Gemini API — for powering the AI Chat mentor
- GitHub Pages / Cloudflare — for hosting our website and backend
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on their end.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use minimal cookies and browser storage — mainly to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences (like offline access via our PWA service worker). We don't use invasive tracking or advertising cookies.
6. Children's Privacy
CodeVent Digital is intended for learners generally aged 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or delete your account information
- Withdraw from our community channels at any time
To exercise any of these, reach out via the Contact page.
8. Changes to This Policy
